I received my Bachelors of Arts in Sociology from the University of Texas at Austin and I went on to receive my Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas State University. I studied the Professional Counseling track. I have the opportunity to work in a range of settings with diverse populations including children, adolescents and adults. I first gained experience with adults working at the Texas State University Round Rock Community Clinic. Following this experience, I have worked with adolescents navigating the foster care system at The Settlement Home for Children, providing group, individual and family therapy as well as crisis intervention and safety planning.

After graduating from my 3-year MA program at Texas State University, passing the National Counselor Examination, and receiving my LPC-Associate license in the state of Texas, I joined Rise Up Counseling, PLLC in October of 2024. I am an Associate therapist currently practicing under the Supervision of Britney Eglinton, MS, LPC-Supervisor. As an LPC-Associate, I am provisionally licensed and currently working towards the 3000 hours required by the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Counsel for unrestricted licensure. Being “under supervision” means I will have weekly case consultations with my Licensed Supervisor Britney Eglinton, MS, LPC-S who is an expert at trauma-informed treatment and has over 13+ years of experience in the field.

I am a trauma-informed therapist with extensive experience working with at-risk youth, mandated clients, and crisis intervention. I am a TBRI (Trust Based Relational Intervention) Practitioner and in the process of completing EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) training. I believe that connection and the therapeutic alliance are the most important pieces to creating change for clients. I enjoy being playful and silly with children as play disarms fear and is the primary language of children. In working with adults, I like to bring in elements of Existentialism and Reality therapy to get at the heart of how you define your meaning and help you to regain a sense of autonomy and power over your life’s trajectory.
